Sale Re-Opens For Business

Over the last few weeks we've welcomed back the Makers Market (which will be with us on the 3rd Sunday of each month for the rest of 2020), as well as the non-essential shops and businesses.

This weekend saw some of our most loved restaurants, bars, cafés, hairdressers, barbers and businesses open for customers, after a challenging and worrying few months.

We’ve been speaking with some well-known Sale businesses about how they feel about being back in business.

Honeyblossom Bridal – owner Jenny:

Reopening Honeyblossom Bridal boutique was very exciting! But it is different……it’s wonderful being back and I’d definitely take that over being closed!

Most brides I’m seeing are for 2021 / 2022 weddings, where the wedding dress search has been on hold throughout lockdown.”

Anna from Flair Boutique, based in Emporium M33 explains how she adapted her business, and continued to help support her customers to look good during lockdown:

As a small business owner who had made the decision to go full time with Flair Boutique UK at the start of 2020, lockdown was a shock! I was pleasantly surprised by the number of ladies who continued to shop with me while we were all stuck at home and it was lovely to deliver locally and post orders out.

Both businesses are now up and running, and you can see from Jenny’s and Anna’s faces and social media how pleased they are to be back.

Sale’s restaurants have also been busy preparing to adhere to new safety guidelines, which include -

  • distancing measures inside

  • seating only

  • reduced numbers of customers inside

  • enhanced cleaning

  • the need to take more contact details from every customer

  • table service or ordering via an app

Mano a Bocca has the luxury of their outside terrace area for additional seating, Mustard have their booths inside which are great to encourage social distancing, VIDA have been welcoming customers with some great communication about what to expect and to re-assure us.

We’d like to wish all the shops, licensed premises, professional services businesses and all M33 based owners or manager’s the best of luck in the next phases of re-opening, as we hopefully start to rebuild and continue to reopen safely.

How You Can Help/Shop Local

To best support Sale’s businesses, please come in to the town centre to do your shopping safely; Adhere to the social distancing guidelines across all shops and businesses; Keep Left whilst in The Square Shopping Centre, wear face coverings and use the hand sanitisation stations located across the town.

We all want to attract future businesses to the town, to make it vibrant and a great place to live, work and socialise. Let’s support the businesses there now (safely) and try and Shop Local in stores where possible.
